Shrink That Obnoxiously Long Web Address Down to Usable Size with TinyURL
All of us, at some point (and maybe several times a day) have wondered why some companies configure their Web services the way they do -- in particular, why they create individual page URLs that run roughly the length of a short novel and are therefore difficult or impossible to pass along to others.
Now a free online service called TinyURL makes solving that problem quick, easy and free. Simply paste the offending URL into the box provided, click the button, and voila -- you get a roughly 20-character URL that can be used in place of the long one, and is guaranteed never to expire (though the URL to which it refers may change, of course). It's a great service, and did we mention that it's free?
