New York Times archives -- now online!
Look, no one likes microfilm. We use it when we have to, but only when we really have to. Librarians understand that as well as anyone, and that's why the University Libraries are very proud to announce that we have purchased online access to the full archive of the New York Times, going all the way back to its first issue in 1851. You can search, read, download and print images of individual articles or full newspaper pages (though copyright restrictions mean that some photographs may be unavailable, and a few articles are available only in full-page view).
You can access the NYT archive in several ways: it's listed alphabetically on both the Electronic Journals page and on the Online Resources page within the University Libraries webspace; you can also look it up by title in the Libraries' online catalog. If you have any questions about how to find or use this great new resource, ask any librarian -- or send a note to InfoEdge at rickand@unr.edu.
