Let us put your course reserve materials online!
Bring us your homework solutions, your articles, your out-of-print book chapters yearning to be free!
Did you know that the University Libraries are providing online hosting for course reserve materials? We will scan (preferably from originals rather than photocopies) book chapters, journal articles, and other materials and place them on secure servers for access by your students. The Libraries will also secure (and pay for) any necessary copyright permissions. You may submit your requests electronically or bring them in to Getchell Library.
For more information, contact Maggie Ressel at ressel@unr.edu.

Computer Driving You Crazy?
Nobody likes asking for computer help. There's always that nagging suspicion that everyone else knows how to write macros or encode formulas or relate to relational databases, and that you'll be opening yourself up to ridicule by exposing your ignorance. Of course, the Computing Help Desk offers cheerful and expert assistance seven days a week, but sometimes it would be nice to have access to a whole library of easy-to-use computer reference books and manuals that you could use anonymously and at your own convenience.
Good news! The University Libraries offer just such a collection, and you won't even have to make space on your shelves for it. ITPro is a suite of hundreds of guides to everything from database maintenance to word processing tips and Web design handbooks. You'll find the ever-popular "For Dummies" guides here, as well as official guides to Microsoft programs and much, much more. Best of all, these electronic books are available 24 hours a day, they are fully searchable and you can access them from your home or office. Click on ITPro to find answers right now!
